It is currently Month 6 of Turn 1164.

Current Action
The Island continues to recover from the earthquake. Holders, Guildmembers, and Weyrfolk alike are all making repairs and cleaning up as much as possible.
The riders have declared R'sten of Bronze Heweth Interim Weyrleader. Headwoman Lirazee is the Interim Weyrwoman until the little gold hatches and rises.

Upcoming Hatchings/Clutches
Hipath's Clutch will be Hatching within the month.

Newly appointed Candidate Master Micaela is taking the candidates to visit the clutch!

Lord Holder Mathias continues to provide supplies and assistance to the northern part of the island to aid in the recovery from the earthquake.

Miner Hold
The Lord and Lady Holders along with R'sten and Lirazee are meeting in Miner Hold to discuss the recovery efforts. Rumors have it of a festival to follow soon too.

Weather

Shan Hold Region
The Western Coast will average 50-55F on a day-to-day basis. Most days will be slightly windy and afternoons will see short lived thunder-storms. Otherwise, the skies will be clear.
The Inland Region will see most days staying foggy at night and during the morning, however the fog will clear out by mid-morning. Days are cool, not getting much above the mid-50s. The skies are clear once the fog moves out and there is no wind.
The Cascading Lakes region and Easter Coast will stay cold, with the highs not getting much higher than 40 during the day. The rains from the western coast will pass through the mountains on occasion and by night fall bring some snow to the region. These two weeks should see 2-3 inches of snow in the higher elevations, and light dusties on the lower elevations.

Sydir Hold Region
The Western Coast will see a steady rain develop and remain throughout much of the first half of the month, with the mountains seeing snow instead. When it's not raining, it will still be cloudy. Temperatures will be around 50F. The winds will be calm until mid month.
The Northern Valley areas will see clear skies as most of the rain west to the mountains won't even make it past. Temperatures will be a cool 55F on average. There will be little wind.
The Sydir Lake region will see cooler temperatures, closer to 50F on an average basis, with strong winds coming from the southeast most days. Some of the rain to the west will make it past the mountains, though it will be short lived. The skies will range from being cloudy to clear.

Nyta Hold Region
The Nyta Hold region will experience some of the colder temperatures, with daily averages not going much past 40 on most days. Winds will be strong and coming from the south west, helping the area feel cooler. Skies will be mostly clear, however the occasional rain or wintery mix will make its way into the region.

Miner Hold Region
The North Coast will be a balmy 65F on most days, with light winds coming off of the ocean on occasion. The water will even be warm enough still for occasional warm swims. There will be little rainfall and the skies will stay mostly clearly, with the occasional cloud.
The Northern Foothills and Mountains will be slightly cooler, averaging between 55-60F. There will be no rain, the skies remaining mostly clear with the occasional cloud. There will be no wind.

Weyrs The rest of the mountains and cliffs of the island also have Weyrs, though they are more secluded. Living in these weyrs, while allowed, isn't exactly discouraged, as it keeps things not quite as tight knit as the Weyr leadership might like. Riders who live in one of these weyrs and get in trouble may be made to move back to Shan Weyr as part of their displinary measures.	0	0	No posts have been made on this board.
Astronomy Guild - 1 Viewing The Astronomy Guild sits atop the mountain furthest to the north on the Island. It's highly secluded from the rest of the island and is only accessible by flight. There is a single, large telescope here, as well two stone figures which serve to predict Threadfall, much in the way the Star and Finger Stones of the North work. There are few buildings on this mountain which serves as housing for the few members of the Guild, mostly all older riders who can no longer meet Thread but still need something to do. At the base of this mountain are a few more buildlings which serve to teach the meteorology side of the Guild to younger students.	0	0	No posts have been made on this board.

The rest of the peaks on the island are unnamed and not formally occupied, though there are caves and weyrs to be found on most every peak and cliff on the island. The exception to this is the peak furthest north on the island, which houses the Astronomy Guild and the stones the Weyr uses to predict Thread Fall, quite similar to the Star and Finger Stones of the North.
