Current Action
The Island continues to recover from the earthquake. Holders, Guildmembers, and Weyrfolk alike are all making repairs and cleaning up as much as possible.
The riders have declared R'sten of Bronze Heweth Interim Weyrleader. Headwoman Lirazee is the Interim Weyrwoman until the little gold hatches and rises.

Upcoming Hatchings/Clutches
Hipath's Clutch will be Hatching within the month.

The Lord and Lady Holders along with R'sten and Lirazee are meeting in Miner Hold to discuss the recovery efforts. Rumors have it of a festival to follow soon too.

Weather

Shan Hold Region
The Western Coast will average 50-55F on a day-to-day basis. Most days will be slightly windy and afternoons will see short lived thunder-storms. Otherwise, the skies will be clear.
The Inland Region will see most days staying foggy at night and during the morning, however the fog will clear out by mid-morning. Days are cool, not getting much above the mid-50s. The skies are clear once the fog moves out and there is no wind.
The Cascading Lakes region and Easter Coast will stay cold, with the highs not getting much higher than 40 during the day. The rains from the western coast will pass through the mountains on occasion and by night fall bring some snow to the region. These two weeks should see 2-3 inches of snow in the higher elevations, and light dusties on the lower elevations.

Sydir Hold Region
The Western Coast will see a steady rain develop and remain throughout much of the first half of the month, with the mountains seeing snow instead. When it's not raining, it will still be cloudy. Temperatures will be around 50F. The winds will be calm until mid month.
The Northern Valley areas will see clear skies as most of the rain west to the mountains won't even make it past. Temperatures will be a cool 55F on average. There will be little wind.
The Sydir Lake region will see cooler temperatures, closer to 50F on an average basis, with strong winds coming from the southeast most days. Some of the rain to the west will make it past the mountains, though it will be short lived. The skies will range from being cloudy to clear.

Nyta Hold Region
The Nyta Hold region will experience some of the colder temperatures, with daily averages not going much past 40 on most days. Winds will be strong and coming from the south west, helping the area feel cooler. Skies will be mostly clear, however the occasional rain or wintery mix will make its way into the region.

Miner Hold Region
The North Coast will be a balmy 65F on most days, with light winds coming off of the ocean on occasion. The water will even be warm enough still for occasional warm swims. There will be little rainfall and the skies will stay mostly clearly, with the occasional cloud.
The Northern Foothills and Mountains will be slightly cooler, averaging between 55-60F. There will be no rain, the skies remaining mostly clear with the occasional cloud. There will be no wind.

Grand Hall The Grand Hall of Miner Hold is actually a cavern, very much resembling the Holds of the north. It has a creche for the children of the hold who are not yet school age, a large dining hall for festivities, and offices for the leadership of the Hold. Courtyard The courtyard sits in front of the Grand Hall. It's large and is surrounded by shops and booths where people sell their goods during the day. It also serves as the main grounds for any Festival days which the Lord or Lady Holder might order. It is the only open area of the Miner Hold proper.	0	0	No posts have been made on this board.
Housing Miner Hold's housing is carved into the mountains, much like Holds in the north. Each house has a common area and at least two bedrooms. The larger ones might even have a kitchen. Housing is managed by the Steward of the hold, who determines who lives where based on family size.	0	0	No posts have been made on this board.
Guild Halls Next to the Grand Hall is a series of caverns which serve as the main halls for the Guilds represented at Nyta Hall. They include the House, Education, and Medical. The main Guild Halls for the Engineer and Miner Guilds are also located here. Miner Hold

While Miner Hold is the second oldest hold on the island, it is also the smallest hold, nestled deeply in a valley beneath the mountains of the northern part of the island. It strongly resembles the Holds of the north, almost every building having been carved into the side of the mountains surrounding it. Miner Hold's primary production is anything that needs to be mined. While there are only two offical minor holds beholden to Miner Hold, there are a number of mining outposts throughout the mountains of the north. Miner Hold also has ownership of the two remaining hoverscrafts, which are used as transport to and from the mining outposts and are maintained by the Engineering Guild.
