Personality and Appearance: Kalimac is considered to be more perceptive than the majority of his peers, frequently catching things long before others notice them. He greatly enjoys horses, sailing, and maps, particularly reading them. Because of his wide variety of likes, and the fact that he catches onto things quicker than others, he never really settled into a guild, but instead hopped between a few until he decided being a holder would have to be enough for him. Still, Kalimac does have his own sense of adventure and fun and isn't one to be called stuck up or prickly. He has no issue with getting into trouble every now and then, if it means having fun, as long as no one gets hurt. Between him and his cousin, he's definitely the one with the more level head.
To his amusement, he finds that he looks quite a bit like his cousin. Enough, in fact, that it's easy for the two to be confused as being brothers. Like his cousin, he keeps his hair a bit longer and somewhat scraggily looking, not really caring how it's done up for the day. The light brown/dark-blonde hair rarely seems to look as though it's even seen a brush. He's almost always smiling, except when he gets a dreamy sort of off in the clouds kind of look when he's thinking about something other than whatever mischief he might be getting himself into. Unlike his cousin, however, his eyes are a bright blue, and not a bright green. He's normally dressed up in what appears to be work clothes, or adventuring clothes, and doesn't seem to have any time for making himself super fancy or dressed up. As long as they work as clothes, he's fine with whatever he's wearing, even if they're dirty. But he does make a point to stay dressed so that he can easily go riding whenever he wants.
History: Kalimac was born in Brandy Hold, a minor hold in the Nyta region close to the border of the Sydir region. Oddly enough, his hold really didn't have anything to do with brandy at all, it was just the name that it had gained at some point in time. He was a happy child, even if he didn't have any siblings, spending a lot of time in the neighboring hold with his cousin Razanur, who's a year younger than him. In fact, having Razanur as a cousin easily made up for the fact that he was an only child. The two boys were almost always inseparable, frequently getting in trouble together, though Kalimac did sometimes find ways for them to conduct their mischief without getting caught.
Still, Kalimac's parents knew that their only child was a bit more perception than his peers and once he turned fourteen, attempted to push him into a variety of guilds which suited his various likes. He did a stint with the seacraft guild, the education guild, and even the luxuries guild, but all ended with him quickly coming back home. As much as he liked all those things, he wasn't wanting to settle down into a single craft when he could do anything he wanted. It eventually meant that he would be settling down as a holder, though for the time being, he kept getting into trouble with his best friend and cousin.
Eventually, though, he started to settle down and become more of a holder than a kid. He helped his family with their responsibilities to Nyta Hold. He never was quite sure, but he always had a feeling that things were about to change for the island completely. Then the earthquake struck, easily decimating a good portion of the northern half of the island. At first, he had thought that that was what he was thinking was going to happen, but once the dust started to settle, he realized it wasn't. And he had started to notice the Red Star more and more, making him wonder if thread wouldn't be returning soon. Of course, that wondering would become more real to him one day when he was at Took Hold with his cousin and a dragon appeared...
