OOC Rules
1. No spamming, flaming, or powerplaying. Advertisements are to be kept in the advertisement board. Keep OOC problems out of the boards and chat, but if you really have a problem with someone, talk to the BoD about it. Do not play another person's character or make another character do something without the permission of the owner. Those who violate any of these rules will have their posts moderated and repeat offenders will be banned.
2. All posts must be PG-13 in nature. A good recommendation for making sure you don't break this rule is to ask yourself: Would you see it in a PG-13 movie? If the answer is no, then you probably shouldn't post it. Full blown sex is strictly not allowed. Take it to email if that's what you want to do.
3. There is no required activity level at this weyr, but if you're going to be gone, please let us know as soon as you can. If you're involved in any major plots and its going to be a while, please consider allowing someone to play for you or allowing your character to be written out so that you don't hold up play. On a side note, if you join and don't make any posts within a month of joining (ie, forum lurk), then you'll be emailed. If you still don't post at all, your account will be deleted.
4. There is no required post length. However, please don't post one sentence replies. That is really difficult to RP with, and it is frustrating. Also, please make sure you use the spell check. Everyone, including me, makes a few mistakes. But if your posts are consistently unreadable, you'll have to be moderated until you improve. Also, no chatspeak or emoticons in IC posts. Pernese do not lol.
5. Post dating: All posts should be dated with the day and month in the title. Example: [6.1] (ie [m.d])
6. Please do not start a plot that affects the whole weyr, such a hatching, mating flight, plague, emergency, birth or death of a character etc without asking the BoD about it first. We welcome ideas from everyone, but it may interfere with a plot that's already planned. Also, riders should not be timing without prior BoD approval. This will result in IC and OOC consequences.
7. Uploaded avatars should be no larger than 150px wide.
One final note: When you join the group for the first time, please let us know which type of account system you intend to use.
IC Rules
1. Pets - Cats, dogs, horses, and flits are all considered acceptable pets. Seacrafters may be partnered with a dolphin, however they are not "pets" in the same sense. Each character can have up to three pets, or more with BoD approval. Bronze flits are limited, however Gold flits are only given out by BoD approval. Flits are only gold, bronze, brown, blue, and green. As of this moment, there are no mutant flit colors.
2. Draconic Speach -
Dragons - Dragon speach can be represented in one of two ways. The first way is using a pair of parentheses/brackets with the speach in between. Ex: ((Dragon speach here)) [[Dragon speach here]] or {{Dragon speach here}}
The other option is to use the text color to make their speach match with their hide color. If you do this, please make sure that it is visible in your final post.
Dragons speak full, coherent sentences, and their eye colors reflect their moods.
Flits - Like dragons, flit speach can be represented in one of two ways. Flits do not speak like dragons, but rather flash images and emotions to their Pets. The first way to show this is by putting what their showing in between a pair of asterisks (ex: **image,emotion**). The other way to show flit speach is to do that with the color of their hide, like with dragon speach. Again, please check that the color is visible in the final post.
As more things come to mind, they may or may not be added here, so please keep checking back.
If you have questions about anything, please shoot a PM to the NC Weyr Admin account and we'll be happy to assist you. Have fun!
