Personality and Appearance: Talomin is tall and lanky. He’s still young, so he’s growing into his body, but at the moment he looks a little under nourished. He has dark green eyes and dark brown hair that hangs to his shoulders. He now has a scar on his side from his aunt attacking him. He wears a simple dark green necklace that he had made although it is the only piece of jewelry he will wear. He does dress nice as his aunt wouldn't have it any other way. He always has new clothes which help hide that he is a bit on the skinny side. Hopefully with time though he'll fill out nicely.
Talomin is a kind hearted kid, but he’s very leery. He grew up in Shan Hold, so he is constantly watching his step because of his overbearing aunt and it may be hard for him to make friends. His uncle is like a puppy and won't stand up to his aunt even if he doesn't agree with what's going on. Sometimes he feels like no one wants him around since even his father abandoned him and his aunt beats him at times just because. Although once you break through that tough exterior you’ll have a friend for life.
History: Talomin was born during a Turn’s End celebration. His mother died of complications after his birth and he was left to be raised by a father who didn’t want children to begin with. His father abandoned him and the boy was raised by his aunt and uncle from the age of one up. Although he probably would have been better off with his father. His aunt raised him as hers, but he was always considered below his cousins until the day they disobeyed their mother.
Talomin didn’t get a chance to know his two cousins real well, since they had been sent off to the mines, but he always hoped that one day he could track them down. Then he heard they had Impressed and his aunt was furious. She pretty much wrote her sons off after that and threatened Talomin that if she ever heard him mention dragons or his cousins he would be sorry. Talomin did his best to obey.
After his cousins Impressed his aunt and uncle drilled into him that all dragon riders were bad and the boy soon believed them. Although he still dreamed about dragons and if he wasn't careful it would come through in his craft. He took after his aunt though and apprenticed to the luxury guild. He learned fast that he had a knack for making jewelry and he actually enjoyed doing it. He managed to make a little extra change at the Gathers as people seemed to like his jewelry as well. He couldn't help himself from looking for his cousins at each Gather.
When he turned 16 an earthquake hit, shattering his life once again. Thankfully his family wasn't hurt. At least the family he knew of. He didn't know about his cousins. Not long later though he was found on Search, but wasn’t sure how to react as his aunt despised riders, claiming that they took her sons from her. His aunt got so mad at him for finally agreeing to be a candidate that she physically attacked him. He had to spend almost a sevenday in the infirmary at the Weyr from a wound to his side and now carries that scar with him. He is hoping to restart his life though and maybe find his cousins as well.
